Merry Benezra

Merry Benezra is a seasoned writer whose debut novella Special Karma was called “a beautiful little book” by Tricycle magazine.

Her investment in the issues explored in Kinship is based in her discovery that her family tree includes both slaveowners and enslaved Black women. Kinship is an acknowledgement of truth and harm, as well as a testament to human resiliency.
